If the Maurice de Mauriac Automatic Modern XL 3.05 is too clean, or not quite big enough, maybe you can consider the Chronograph Modern XL 817.08. At 45mm you get an extra mm, and despute it being a chrono, still has very clean lines.
This one has a screw crown, open case back and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass.
If only they did a GMT / 24 hour one!
